"She remebered who she was and the game changed." - Lalah Deliah

Looking back last year, self love would be a struggle for me. I allowed people’s negative words to impact how I felt within myself. Self love begins within you; to love yourself you have to to be mentally prepared. By changing your mentality on how you perceive yourself; is the first steps to growing self love for you. This may sound cheesy, but looking at yourself in a mirror and only speaking positive comments about yourself. Love those stretch marks, that stomach you have, your hair, eyes, nose etc. Many times we say not to dwell on the negative comments but I feel it’s healthier to actually write down the negative thought/comment. It helps release that negativity from your heart; which you’ll proceed in writing positive comments/thoughts about yourself. Change those negativity to a positive thinking. Another is having your alone time; it’s not everyday you need to be surrounded by people. Being alone you tend to find your hidden talents, inner chakra and happiness. It helps grow your love for yourself and know that you are a talented and bright individual. Also find bible scriptures that speak to you personally. Find scriptures to uplift and guide you. My favorite scriptures are Ephesians 2:10, 2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 John 4:4 and Proverbs 31:25. Just by growing your relationship with God can be big steps to actually being happy within yourself. When you know you have been created by a loving God; who has a purpose and destiny for you what else is there. God put you in this world for a purpose, you are beautiful/ handsome. Don’t allow negative people to dim your shine. In 2 Timothy 1:7 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.” Find who you are, love that person and grow with it. You only have yourself and God; so might as well grow to love and cherish God and you.
